Jason Degenhardt holds a B.A. in Music Education from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. During his time at WU, he performed in various ensembles which included performance tours of Honduras and China, as well as a live film recording with the band KANSAS, and various appearances at the Kansas Music Educator's Association State Convention. He was a founding member of the Washburn Percussion Collective, a group who promoted and advocated percussion chamber music throughout the state of Kansas.
Jason has performed onstage with a wide variety of professional artists including Broadway Stars Jeff Kready, Tally Sessions, and Nikki Renee Daniels, Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show, Nelly's Echo, Linda Maxey, Bob Becker, Topeka Symphony Orchestra, Topeka Festival Singers, and Fountain City Brass Band. In 2005 he traveled the United States in the front ensemble of the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps. In 2009 he performed with the Fountain City Band on their performance competition tour of England. While in England, the band recorded Somewhere Over The Rainbow where Jason played percussion as well as drumset. Particularly fond of musical theatre, you'll often find Jason in the pit for a local production at Topeka Civic Theatre or Helen Hocker Theatre. A Day In the Life...
On a daily basis, Jason enjoys performing, teaching, and building drums.

As a performer, Jason can regularly be found in the pit for musicals at the local theaters, and onstage with groups such as the Topeka Festival Singers, Switch in Time, The Blue Notes Variety Band and more.

EDUCATOR |
As a teacher, Jason has a private percussion studio where he teaches snare drum, drumset, and mallets to students of various ages. Numerous students of Jason's studio have achieved high honors at state competitions.
